As a long-range jetliner, the A350 XWB will spend much of its operational life in cruise. Airbus’ use of advanced technology guarantees the aircraft will be highly efficient throughout the cruise phase – flying the shortest and most optimised routes, while reducing fuel consumption and CO2 emissions by up to 25% compared to other aircraft in this category.
Very precise routing provided by the A350 XWB’s flight management system will save fuel and reduce time aloft – with track accuracy of 0.1 nautical miles (RNP 0.1).
The aircraft is designed for extended twin-engine operations (ETOPS) of up to 350 minutes from a diversion airfield, allowing it to fly virtually anywhere in the world while meeting all international standards for long-range trips over water and remote areas.
