The A330-200F has built up a solid customer base since its formal launch in January 2007, acquiring 64 firm orders from nine customers worldwide. The aircraft was also selected by a tenth customer – Turkish Airlines, which signed a memorandum of understanding in 2009 for two A330-200Fs.
Leasing and service companies acquiring A330-200s to date are U.S.-based Aircastle Limited, Guggenheim Aviation Partners and Intrepid Aviation Group; as well as Iceland’s Avion Aircraft Trading (which already has signed an A330-200F lease agreement with Icelandair Cargo), and Asia's BOC Aviation (previously known as Singapore Aircraft Leasing Enterprise).
MatlinPatterson Global Advisers LLC placed a firm order for six A330-200 Freighter aircraft through an affiliate. This U.S. investment fund plans for the aircraft to be used by certain of its airline portfolio companies, such as Varig Logistica in Brazil and Global Aero Logistics in the USA – which will become new Airbus operators.
Airline customers with firm A330-200F orders are Etihad Crystal Cargo (the cargo division of UAE national carrier Etihad Airways), India’s Flyington Freighters, Turkish cargo operator MNG Airlines and Turkish Airlines.
