A320 - The Airbus prodigy

A320 Saga Episode 1: The Genesis
09 March 2010

Having succeeded in entering the world’s air transport sector with its widebody A300 and A310, Airbus faced a new challenge in 1984 – expanding into the short- and medium-haul market, long dominated by the 737 and DC-9. Airbus anticipated operator needs and designed the single-aisle A320, which opened up new possibilities for operators around the globe. Company pioneers Roger Beteille and Bernard Ziegler discuss the “Airbus prodigy” in this premiere episode.
