Airbus corporate jetliners and VIP widebodies were proved popular once again in 2008, with firm orders for a total of 23 total aircraft received during the year.
Airbus saw continued demand for its corporate jetliners and VIP widebodies in 2008, receiving firm orders for 23 aircraft during the year at a combined total value of more than $3 billion at list-prices.
The order intake included agreements for 14 Airbus Corporate Jetliners (ACJs) from the single-aisle A320 Family product line. In addition, Airbus saw orders for eight A350 XWB Prestige jetliners and one A340-500 Prestige - representing the highest proportion of widebody VIP aircraft sales to date.
Airbus outsold its direct competitor in both the top-of-the-line single-aisle and VIP widebody sectors. While the 2008 Airbus orders came primarily from private customers, they also included sales from companies and governments.
