Airbus Corporate Jet Centre receives first aircraft for outfitting and invests in improved facilities

The Airbus Corporate Jet Centre in Toulouse, France will undergo a major upgrade to provide a world-class cabin outfitting service for Airbus corporate jet customers. This facility opened for business as an Airbus majority-owned subsidiary in July, and will build up its capabilities to handle the interior equipping of three Airbus Corporate Jetliner Family aircraft per year.

The Airbus Corporate Jet Centre in Toulouse has just received its first two aircraft for cabin outfitting, and is to invest more than €5 million in improving its facilities in Toulouse, as part of its efforts to provide a world-class cabin-outfitting service to corporate jet customers.

The two Airbus Corporate Jetliner (ACJ) Family aircraft will be equipped with VIP cabins for private customers.

Airbus' Corporate Jet Centre is based in the former EADS Sogerma facilities in Toulouse, and regroups most of the company's experienced cabin-outfitting personnel under a new management team. It is a majority owned subsidiary of Airbus that includes investment by an outside partner.

Airbus' Corporate Jet Centre opened for business in July this year, and plans to build up to outfitting three Airbus ACJ Family aircraft a year.

The improvement in facilities comprises the addition of 1,500 sq. metres /16,150 sq. ft. of office space, a 250 sq. metre/2,690 sq. ft. workshop, and the installation of docks in, and outfitting of, a 6,500 sq. meter/70,000 sq. ft. existing hangar.

Completion of the first phase of the work is planned for the end of this year, with final completion due in the first quarter of 2008. When the work is complete, the newly outfitted hangar will be able to accommodate three Airbus ACJ Family aircraft - two of them in docks.

"We are looking forward to welcoming customers in our new facility, as well as to delivering the kind of quality workmanship and elegant design that our predecessor provided," says Airbus Corporate Jet Centre CEO Benoit Defforge. "Our goal is to provide this as part of successful business," he adds.

Record sales of corporate jets mean that there is strong demand for cabin outfitting worldwide, which the Airbus Corporate Jet Centre will help to satisfy - as well as giving customers an extra choice.

Airbus offers customers a choice of six approved and experienced outfitters for the ACJ Family - Associated Air Center of Dallas, Texas, the Airbus Corporate Jet Centre, Fokker Services of Amsterdam, the Netherlands, Gore Design Completions of San Antonio, Texas and Lufthansa Technik of Hamburg, Germany.
